Russia’s output of polymers products rises 4.4% in January-April

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s output of products from polymers grew by 4.4% in the January-April period, year on year, according to an MRC analysts.

According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, production of un-reinforced and non-combined films stood at 355,000 tonnes in the four-month period, up 11% year on year.

Production of polymer non-porous boards, sheets and films reached 118,100 tonnes during the period, up by 15% year on year.

Output of polymer porous boards, sheets and films fell slightly year on year, with 80,000 tonnes produced in the first four months of 2019, compared to 83,400 tonnes a year earlier.

Production of plastic bottles and flasks rose during the period to 6.73m units, up from the 6.30m units produced in January-April 2018.

Polymer pipes, hoses and fittings’ production stood at 159,300 tonnes, up by 2.6%.

Production of sacks and bags from ethylene polymers totalled 7,990m units during the period, compared to 8,100m units a year earlier.
