MOSCOW (MRC)–European polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sellers maintained prices for June shipments to the commonwealth of independent states (CIS) region this week, with a slight increase from some producers, according to ICIS-MRC Price report.

European producers did not adjust their export PVC prices for deliveries to the CIS countries on the back of steady prices of key feedstocks ethylene. In a few cases, players reported price increase of €5/tonne from May.

Negotiators said some producers still had export restrictions due to scheduled maintenance shutdowns. Export flows have also shifted as a result of problems in Brazil.

Demand for PVC increased from the main consumers in the CIS countries in June, but high export prices of European producers limited the growth in purchases.

Deals for June shipments of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC) to the CIS markets were done in the range of €720-810/tonne FCA (free carrier), whereas last month’s deals were done in the range of €720-805/tonne FCA.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
