Belarus’ PP imports up more than 6% in January-April

MOSCOW (MRC)–Imports of polypropylene (PP) into Belarus rose in the first four months of 2019 by 6.3%, year on year, totalling 34,100 tonnes, according to MRC’s DataScope report.

Homopolymer of propylene (homopolymer PP) accounted for most of the increase, whereas demand for propylene copolymers decreased.

Homopolymer PP imports reached 24,000 tonnes in January-April, up 11.8% year on year.

Russian producers, with a share of 86%, were the key PP suppliers.

Overall imports of propylene copolymers reached 10,100 tonnes in the four-month period, down 4.9% year on year.
