Russia’s polymers products output up 2.5% in January-May

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s output of products from polymers increased by 2.5% in January-May, year on year, according to MRC analysts.
According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service, production of un-reinforced and non-combined films rose in January-May by 8.2%, year on year, to 451,600 tonnes.
Production of non-porous boards, sheets and films rose to 151,100 tonnes in the five-month period, up 13.4% year on year.
Output of polymer porous boards, sheets and films stood at 101,200 tonnes, down from 108,400 tonnes a year earlier.
Production of plastic bottles and flasks totalled 8.54m units in January-May, compared to 8.28m units a year earlier.
Polymer pipes, hoses and fittings’ output stood at 210,100 tonnes, up by 1.3%.
Production of sacks and bags from ethylene polymers totalled 9,857m units during the five-month period, flat from a year earlier.
