MOSCOW (MRC)–North American polyvinyl chloride (PVC) suppliers into Russia have raised their prices for September shipments by $10/tonne, according to the ICIS-MRC Price Report.

Prices were hiked to $860-880/tonne CFR (cost and freight) St Petersburg last week, up from $850-870/tonne the week before for H2 August-September shipments.

At the same time, there was no demand from Russian companies as the weakening of the rouble against the dollar made PVC purchases in the US unprofitable, although a month ago the situation was opposite.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
