MOSCOW (MRC)–Imports of polycarbonate (PC) granules to Russia (excluding shipments from Belarus) almost doubled in the first ten months of 2019 according to MRC’s DataScope report.

Levels climbed to almost by 2 times year on year to 16,200 tonnes, from 8,900 tonnes in January-October 2018.

For October PC imports (excluding Belarusian deliveries) reached 2,000 tonnes compared to 1,500 tonnes a year prior but were down from 2,800 tonnes the previous month.

Extrusion grade PC accounted for 60% (9,700 tonnes) of the total shipments to the Russian Federation.

Covestro (with the share of 58%) and Sabic Innovative Plastics (31%) were the main import suppliers of PC granules, with each supplier more than doubling their volumes compared to the previous year (excluding Belarusian imports).
