MOSCOW (MRC)--Imports of polycarbonate (PC) granules to Russia (excluding shipments from Belarus) almost doubled in the first ten months of 2019 according to MRC’s DataScope report.

Levels climbed to almost by 2 times year on year to 16,200 tonnes, from 8,900 tonnes in January-October 2018.

For October PC imports (excluding Belarusian deliveries) reached 2,000 tonnes compared to 1,500 tonnes a year prior but were down from 2,800 tonnes the previous month.

Extrusion grade PC accounted for 60% (9,700 tonnes) of the total shipments to the Russian Federation.

Covestro (with the share of 58%) and Sabic Innovative Plastics (31%) were the main import suppliers of PC granules, with each supplier more than doubling their volumes compared to the previous year (excluding Belarusian imports).
