BARCELONA (ICIS)--Closure of the Strait of Hormuz is unlikely, and the impact of any closure on chemical supply chains would be limited by ample inventories in the key China export market, according to a senior ICIS employee in the region.

The Strait, between Saudi Arabia and Iran, is vital for Middle East exports - including Iran's -  so intense diplomatic efforts would be made to avoid its closure, according to Shashank Shekar, ICIS head of Middle East markets.
