MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s production of high density polyethylene (HDPE) stood at 868,000 tonnes in 2019, down by 10% year on year, as all producers reduced output on the back of scheduled maintenance, according to MRC’s ScanPlast.
HDPE production at producer Kazanorgsintez reached 495,700 tonnes in 2019, down 2% year on year, while the lower HDPE output helped the company increase production of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).
Stavrolen produced 262,300 tonnes in 2019, down by 11% year on year. Gazprom neftekhim Salavat also posted a 11% decrease in HDPE output to 106,000 tonnes.
During the year, Nizhnekamskneftekhim produced mainly linear polyethylene (LLDPE).
