MOSCOW (MRC)–European producers have increased polyvinyl chloride (PVC) export prices to CIS countries by €20-30/tonne, (PVC) for February shipments, according to the ICIS-MRC Price Report.

The European ethylene February contract price rolled over from January. Despite the main feedstock rolling over, a balanced domestic market and good demand from key export markets allowed European producers to increase PVC export prices.

By increasing of the price of PVC, European producers are also trying to compensate for the decrease in margins in caustic soda in the past few months.

The demand for PVC is not strong in the CIS countries and is reduced mostly to demand for PVC K58 and K70.

Deals for February shipments of suspension PVC (SPVC) stood at a range of €725-795/tonne FCA (free carrier) CIS.
