Russia ups Jan-April 2020 PE, PVC, PS output

MOSCOW (MRC)–Despite the coronavirus crisis, Russia’s total output of polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polystyrene (PS) was up in January-April 2020, according to an announcement of the Russian statistical agency Rosstat released on Wednesday.

In January-April, the country’s total production of PE was 48.5% up year on year at 1.12m tonnes.

Last month, the country’s total production of PE was 57.4% up year on year and 2.4% down month on month at 296,000 tonnes.

PVC production was 3.5% up year on year at 372,500 tonnes. In April, PVC output was 0.7% down year on year and 6.1% down month on month at 90,300 tonnes.

In January-April, PS production was 1.4% up year on year at 183,600 tonnes.

Last month, PS output was 0.6% down year on year and 3.2% down month on month at 46,300 tonnes.
