MOSCOW (MRC)–Angarsk Polymers Plant has shut down its low density polyethylene (LDPE) production for a scheduled turnaround, according to ICIS-MRC Price Report.

The 75,000 tonnes/year plant was taken offline for planned maintenance on 22 June which is scheduled to last for one month, according to market feedback.

Further Russian plants are due to come offline in the coming month, with Gazprom neftekhim Salavat’s LDPE capacity due for a month of maintenance on 1 July.

Tomskneftekhim is expected to conduct maintenance works in the second half of the month.

Angarsk Polymer Plant (controlled by Rosneft through OOO Neft-Aktiv) is the only petrochemical full-cycle plant in Eastern Siberia

The bulk of the ethylene produced is used as a captive feedstock for LDPE, styrene monomer (SM) and polystyrene (PS) production.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
