MOSCOW (MRC)–Russian producer Angarsk Polymers Plant has resumed low density polyethylene (LDPE) production after a scheduled turnaround, according to an MRC Price Report.

The plant, with a production capacity of 75,000 tonnes/year of LDPE, resumed production on 31 July after it went offline on 22 June.

Angarsk Polymers Plant is a subsidiary of energy major Rosneft through its venture OOO Neft-Aktiv.

Gazprom neftekhim Salavat intends to resume its LDPE production in the next few days after shutdown for a turnaround started on 1 July; the plant’s production capacity is 45,000 tonnes/year.

Three other producers intend to simultaneously shut their LDPE production capacities for a turnaround in late August-September:

Ufaorgsintez will shut down in two phases, the first in late August; Tomskneftekhim intends to shut for two weeks from 2 September; and Kazanorgsintez intends to shut down in two phases from 17 September to 13 October.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
