HOUSTON (ICIS)–A chlorine leak hit a BioLab plant in Westlake, Louisiana, in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, the Louisiana State Police said on Thursday.

The plant was closed in preparation of the hurricane and it remains shut, the police said.

The state police did not say if the plant was also on fire.

However, the news station KPLC in Lake Charles reported that the plant is on fire, attributing the information to officials at BioLab.

Another news station, ABC 13 in Houston, published footage of a fire burning at what it reported to be the BioLab plant.

BioLab is owned by KIK Custom Products, which bought Chemtura’s pool-and-spa chemicals business in 2014.

KIK did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
