China December exports grow 18.1% year on year; imports up 6.5%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–China’s total exports in December rose by 18.1% year on year to $281.9bn, according to preliminary data from the government.
Imports for the month posted an increase of 6.5% to $203.8bn, bringing the trade surplus to $78.1bn.
For the whole of 2020, China’s total exports posted a 3.6% growth to $2.59tr, while imports fell by 1.1% to $2.06tr, official data showed.
