SINGAPORE (ICIS)–INVISTA and China’s Sinopec Yizheng have reached a technology licensing agreement for a new purified terephthalic acid (PTA) line in Jiangsu province, the US producer said on Thursday.

Sinopec Yizheng will use INVISTA’s PTA 8++ technology for its third PTA line, which will have an annual nameplate capacity of 3m tonnes, the company said in a statement.

Sinopec Yizheng previously utilised INVISTA’s P6 PTA technology for its 450,000 tonne/year second PTA line.

Financial details and a timeline for the project were not disclosed.
