HOUSTON (ICIS)–Brazilian conglomerate Ultrapar said on Monday that its operations were fully functional again after it was the target of a ransomware cyberattack.
As of 14 January, the operational systems of the company and its subsidiaries have been gradually re-established.
“Currently, 100% of the critical information systems of the company and its subsidiaries are fully functional,” Ultrapar said in a securities filing.
The conglomerate interrupted its systems as a precautionary measure which partially affected the operations of its subsidiaries after the attack.
After an investigation, Ultrapar identified the non-authorised copy and release of certain data. It is analysing the amount of data exfiltrated and the potential impact on its businesses and other third parties.
Ultrapar said that it does not expect a material impact in its results due to the incident, citing the company’s cyber insurance policy which has already been triggered as a result of the ransomware attack.
