LONDON (ICIS)–Bolivia’s Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energies on Friday announced a strategic plan for green hydrogen generation to increase the country’s energy potential and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Franklin Molina told a virtual event the government of Bolivia not only aims to promote the development of clean hydrogen-based technologies, but also through the use of solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and biomass energies.

“Within the Bolivian energy plan we have planned the introduction of green hydrogen,” he said.

“We are showing our commitment to initiatives that promote a process of decarbonisation [and] reduce greenhouse gases […] that can contribute to having a cleaner energy matrix in our country.”

Further details of projects that will generate the clean fuel through electrolysis will be revealed in due course, the minister added.
