Russia’s chemicals output up 7.5% in January-February, fertilizers rise 15%

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s output of chemical products rose in January-February by 7.5%, year on year, according to the country’s statistical office.
Mineral fertilizers accounted for the greatest increase in the January-February output, said Rosstat.
Production of benzene reached 241,000 tonnes in the two-month period, up 7.5% year on year; production of caustic soda stood at 211,400 tonnes, down by 4.6% year on year.
Output of polymers in primary form stood at 1.77m tonnes during the period, up 8.4% year on year.
Russia’s output of fertilizers in January-February stood at around 4.4m tonnes, up 15.4% year on year.
