MOSCOW (MRC)–Kazakhstan’s only polypropylene (PP) producer, Neftekhim, has shut down production for scheduled maintenance, according to the ICIS-MRC Price report.

The plant’s customers said the producer had taken its PP output off-stream by 27 September for a planned turnaround.

Exact dates of the outage have not been announced but repairs were scheduled to be carried out within 28 days.

Neftekhim produces 45,000 tonnes/year of polypropylene (PP), as well as methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE).
