The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has selected ICIS data as the wholesale energy reference for its prepayment tariff price cap, one of the key measures introduced as part of the CMA’s two-year investigation into Britain’s energy markets.
ICIS is the most widely used and trusted provider of wholesale gas and power data to the UK market, and our price assessments will be used as a measure of the market cost of the energy purchased.
We held a webinar on January 26 with Zoe Double, ICIS’ Head of Power, to help you understand the market data used in these calculations, and how to adapt to this new requirement.
The webinar included how our valuations are formed; the different methodologies we use in market valuations; and how these apply in practice.
