The Clean Power Plan (CPP), part of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan, is aimed at reducing carbon emissions from power plants. In addition to the proposed rule introduced by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for new power plants in September 2013, the EPA announced on 2 June 2014 that they will regulate emissions from existing Electric Generating Units (EGUs).
