With more overseas polyolefins plants starting up in China, there is tight competition between domestic production and the import market. China, which used to be a prominent customer market for polyolefins, is now in the race against stronghold markets such as southeast Asia, where export prices have been significantly lowered. It is hence critical for market players to have a precise view of the domestic production by grades and to be able to analyse why import cargoes are preferred over China’s domestic cargoes.
The ICIS China Polyolefins Weekly Pricing Reports have now been updated to reflect a more strategic and granular view of the China’s polyolefins market, with data and insights on price trends, production capacities by grades for each demand sub-category and supply and demand balances, in order to help industry players prioritise key market segments and maximise opportunistic returns.
“It would be good if the report comes with an Excel file with the data as analysts like myself maintain several files and have to manually input data from the published reports.” - Customer feedback
Newly added: A weekly update of a monthly view of validated shutdown schedule for each China polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) plants in the calendar year in Excel format. The new format enables you to filter the plants by region and feedstock (coal or naphtha based) with the ability to manipulate the data to the required supply loss view.
“It would be helpful to know which demand sub-segment has a stronger purchase appetite so that they can target them and yield better margins.” - Customer feedback
Newly added: The consumption trends by each end-user sub-segments are now available, with the substitution threshold and trends included for a more detailed breakdown of the downstream segment.
Newly added: A domestic production section with changes in the weekly output by individual grades are now available. A comparative view of the import price trends against domestic producers are also featured to help you understand the factors driving the market shifts.Request a free sample of the reports »
