SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical shut down its 200,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit in Beijing on 30 July for a seven-day turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.
The plant was shut down due to shortage of feedstock propylene, the source added.
The turnaround may affect the prices of some PP-related products such as low-melt copolymer PP, which has a market price of around CNY 11,500/ tonne ($1,861/tonne), a market player said.
