HOUSTON (ICIS)--Citgo has restarted its hydrocarbon solvents production units at its Lemont refinery in Illinois, the company said in a letter its customers made available on Thursday.

The refiner’s notice, which went out earlier this week, comes after a fire at the facility in late October.

The notice said Citgo would take up to two days to produce on specification product, fill and certify its rundown tanks and transfer to shipping tanks.

As a result, the company said it would begin accepting new orders for the following loading after 18 November: special naphtholite varnish makers and paints (vm&p), hexane, napthol spirits 66/3 and mineral spirits 66/3.

The company added that the following were currently available for loading: 142 solvent, 150 solvent, Citgo solvent 500, special lactolite, heptane, textile spirits, toluene and xylene.

Nonexempt mineral spirits are not expected to be available until the week of 25 November.

Citgo confirmed it had already started up the atmospheric section of its crude unit on Monday.  The vacuum section of the unit has been isolated and will undergo full repairs before being restarted, but no timetable has been established for the restart of the vacuum section.
