SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Philippine Polypropylene Inc (PPI) has been running its 160,000 tonne/year plant at Limay, Bataan in the Philippines, intermittently since early January because of a shortage of on-site propylene feedstock, a source close to the company said on Friday.

The producer was running its PP plant now but it is expected to stop production by the end of February because of a lack of feedstock availability, he said.

PPI has a propylene off-take contract with Petron Corp to receive feedstock from the latter ’s 140,000 tonne/year propylene recovery unit (PRU) in Limay, Bataan, the source said.

Petron Corp holds a 40% stake in Petrochemical Asia (HK) Ltd (PAHL) which owns PPI.
