HOUSTON (ICIS)–US-based Eastman Chemical restarted its Longview cracker in Texas on Thursday after an outage that lasted about two weeks, market sources said on Friday.
Eastman shut down the facility on 3 March because of a combination of site-wide steam/condensate energy emergency and instrument problems on a steam drum, the company said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The issues caused two compressors to shut down the 640,000 tonne/year ethylene unit.
