SHANGHAI (ICIS)–Saudi Polymers shut down its high density PE (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) units at Al-Jubail in mid-March due to a shortage of feedstock, industry sources said.
The company operates two HDPE units with a capacity of 550,000 tonnes/year each and a 400,000 tonne/year PP plant, according to ICIS data.
The plants are expected to be restarted soon with little or no impact on PE/PP market, a source close to the company said.
Saudi Polymers was not immediately available for comment.
