US LyondellBasell declares force majeure, 75% allocation on BD

HOUSTON (ICIS)–US LyondellBasell declared force majeure (FM) and 75% allocation for butadiene (BD), sources said on Friday.
In a letter dated 20 March, the company said that a mechanical failure in its BD extraction facility in Channelview, Texas is the reason for the FM and allocation.
The company’s BD unit has a capacity of 390,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
