LONDON (ICIS)--ATT Polymers will shut down its 46,000 tonnes/year plant in Guben in Germany for around two weeks of maintenance in June, a company source confirmed on Wednesday.

The exact dates of the maintenance are yet to be finalised, the source added.

The plant has been in force majeure since August, following a leakage of highly flammable vapours from a nylon 6 (or polyamide 6) production line.

European nylon 6 supply is tightening because of a heavy maintenance period in the second quarter throughout the caprolactam (capro) chain, and high demand because of macroeconomic recovery.

ATT Polymers is a subsidiary of Poland's Grupa Azoty.
