HOUSTON (ICIS)--US glycol ether contract prices for April were assessed as moving down or rolling over from March prices on Friday.
Producers had not been seeking price increases in April and market participants said there had been downward pressure on prices this month.
Though contract prices for diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DB) went up in March, prices moved back downwards 6 cents/lb ($132/tonne) in April as supplies of the material became more available. Prices for ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EB) rolled over from March to April.
EB is assessed by ICIS at 86-90 cents/lb; DB at 103-105 cents/lb, PM at 114-116 cents/lb and PMA at 116-118 cents/lb.
US glycol ether producers include Eastman Chemical, Dow Chemical, Sasol and LyondellBasell.
