US Evangeline Pipeline returns to service at reduced rates

HOUSTON (ICIS)–The US Evangeline Pipeline returned to service at reduced rates and is distributing ethylene, sources said on Friday.

The pipeline had been down since the third quarter of 2013, creating a supply imbalance between Texas and Louisiana.

The pipeline restart started on 4 May or 5 May, a source said, and material was moved into storage on the Choctaw System based in Louisiana.

As of Friday, ethylene is being distributed out of the pipeline, the source said.

Sources added that the pipeline restart has also allowed at least one US producer to lift its force majeure declaration and sell at 100% of contracted volumes.
