SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Yuhuang Chemical is expected to operate its 500,000 tonne/year methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant at Heze in Shandong province at full load in one or two days, a company source said on Thursday.
The daily output of the plant stand at around 1,200 tonnes at present and is expected to rise to 1,600 tonnes once it runs at full capacity, according to the source.
The company achieved on-spec MTBE production in early May.
Its MTBE has a purity of over 98% and sulphur content of less than 10 parts per million (ppm).
The company has signed an agreement to supply all MTBE output to Sinopec for spot sales, said the source.
