LONDON (ICIS)--India's Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) has awarded its 6 June purchase tender for 15,000 tonnes of ammonia for late June and July delivery to Muntajat, the Qatari supplier confirmed on Wednesday.
Muntajat says it will deliver the first parcel of 7,500 tonnes of ammonia priced at $555/tonne CFR (cost & freight) to Kochi, formerly Cochin, on India's west coast between 30 June and 4 July, but has yet to nominate a vessel.
The supplier, which sells ammonia produced by Qafco, added that the second 7,500-tonne parcel priced at $545/tonne CFR will be loaded in the Arabian Gulf for arrival in India between 14 and 18 July and is priced at $545/tonne CFR.
The only other company to offer under the tender was Transammonia (Trammo) but the price bid was never opened after the commercial bid of the approach failed to meet the buyer's requirements, a local market source said Wednesday.
In late May, Trammo was awarded at $535/tonne CFR under FACT's 21 May purchase tender for 7,500 tonnes of ammonia for mid-June delivery to Cochin.
Trammo said last week it had offered at a similar price level under the June tender.
