hSINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shandong Lihuayi plans to restart its 250,000 tonne/year oxo-alcohols facility at Dongying in Shandong province by 17 August following a scheduled turnaround, a company source said late on Thursday.
The facility, which comprises of a 140,000 tonne/year 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) unit, an 85,000 tonne/year n-butanol unit, and a 25,000 tonne/year isobutanol (IBA) unit, has been shut since 3 August for maintenance, the company source said.
Market participants in the domestic market expect yuan-denominated prices to decrease in the next few weeks because of higher stock levels in the country after the turnaround at Shandong Lihuayi oxo-alcohols facility.
However, the downside pressure on prices may be capped by a cut in operation rates at Nanjing-based facilities as a result of the youth Olympic games starting 16 August, they added.
