LONDON (ICIS)--For the fourth time in three weeks, India’s Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) on Wednesday issued a fresh tender for around 7,500 tonnes of ammonia for prompt arrival on the west coast, a market source revealed.
Having failed with three tenders that closed on 11, 12 and 14 April, the group is now seeking a similar quantity for early May discharge, rather than second half April, at Kochi (Cochin).
The group requires the material on, or before, 5 May, with suppliers having until 14:00 local time on 25 April to submit bids that will be opened at 14:30 local time the same afternoon.
Bids are requested to remain valid until at least 18:00 local time on 28 April.
Under the previous tender, Transagri offered to supply a cargo of Iranian ammonia for 21-30 April arrival at the west coast port, although the price bid was not disclosed.
Two other urgent enquiries – that closed 48-72 hours before that one – for a prompt cargo did not attract any offers due to the short notice of the requests.
On 23 March, FACT awarded Trammo under its 18 March tender for about 7,500 tonnes of spot ammonia for first half April arrival at Kochi.
Trammo was successful with an offer at $395/tonne CFR (cost and freight) with 180 days’ credit, having also offered at $385/tonne CFR with no credit terms.
