HOUSTON (ICIS)--US flexible and rigid packaging firm Bemis has agreed to acquire the medical device packaging operations of SteriPack Group for an undisclosed sum, it said on Wednesday.
The deal includes a facility in Ireland, and packaging production assets in Malaysia and the US. The operations to be acquired by Bemis had sales of $65m last year.
"This acquisition supports Bemis' strategy to grow our healthcare packaging business," said William Austen, CEO of Bemis.
SteriPack Group, founded in 1994 in Ireland, is described as a global manufacturer of sterile packaging solutions for medical device and pharmaceutical applications.
Following completion of the sale to Bemis by the end of April, SteriPack will continue to independently own and operate its contract manufacturing services business.
