LONDON (ICIS)–INOVYN has declared force majeure on production and supply of certain products at its Tavaux, France, site because of a strike affecting the Feyzin cracker and strike action impacting rail deliveries, according to company correspondence to customers seen by ICIS on Tuesday.

Methylene chloride, epichlorohydrin, allyl chloride, chloroform, 2-monochlororpropene, carbon tetrachloride, trichloropropane and perchlorethylene are all included in the force majeure.

The force majeure on these products at the Tavaux site took effect on 24 May, according to the company correspondence.

INOVYN has been severely impacted by a strike at the Feyzin cracker in France, which directly affects the supply of ethylene and propylene to the Tavaux site, along with the SNCF strike action which is affecting rail deliveries to customers, as stated in the company letter.

The company is working to minimise the impact and is striving to return to normal, according to company correspondence.
