LONDON (ICIS)--US chemicals major LyondellBasell said on Friday its planned 500,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant will be located at its complex in La Porte, Texas.
The plant's construction will start early in 2017 and will start up in 2019, said LyondellBasell.
The company announced plans to build an HDPE plant in the US Gulf Coast in July.
Capital expenditure (capex) figures were not disclosed.
"This location [La Porte] is ideal for this facility because of the feedstock advantage we enjoy, the ability to ship product around the world and, most importantly, the outstanding workforce that the Gulf Coast has to offer," said Bob Patel, LyondellBasell’s CEO.
