But until or unless policy shortfalls are addressed that are behind today’s anti free-trade mood, the risk of a global trade war will remain. And a solid base-case scenario can built for a trade war happening in 2017. What would this mean for the chemicals industry? We consider the implications in detail for two products – purified terepthhalic acid and polyvinyl chloride.
