US Sep auto sales down 0.5% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)–US sales of new vehicles in September decreased by 0.5% from the same month last year, according to a report on Monday from US-based research firm AutoData.

September sales of light trucks rose by 4.5% year on year. However, sales of passenger cars dropped again, this time down 7.1%
Among the three major US automakers, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), General Motors and Ford all posted year on year losses of 0.1%, 0.6% and 8.1%, respectively.
Total US sales of new light vehicles year-to-date through September were up by 0.5% compared with the same period last year.
