LONDON (ICIS)--European sellers of plasticizers are looking to increase prices in October due to the higher propylene costs, sources said on Friday.
The increase in propylene for October of €35/tonne, has resulted in sellers looking to recover between €15-30/tonne, depending on the grade.
One supplier confirmed plus €15/tonne was being offered in October for all grades; dioctyl phthalate (DOP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP), dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) and dipropyl heptyl phthalate (DPHP).
Others confirmed DOP, the smaller plasticizer market in Europe, was being offered at plus €15/tonne. However, larger moves of plus €30/tonne were also heard for DINP, though some felt this could be on the high side and attributed it to possible supply constraints.
An outcome is expected next week.
