Russia’s January PP production up 3% year on year

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s polypropylene (PP) production reached 125,700 tonnes in January 2017, up 3% compared with the same time a year earlier, but not all companies have shown positive results, according to MRC ScanPlast.

January’s PP production figure was up from 121,100 tonnes in January 2015 and 126,500 tonnes in December 2016.

SIBUR Tobolsk increased capacity utilisation significantly, while Neftekhimiya showed negative results. Total PP production in Russia exceeded 1.378m tonnes in 2016.

The largest producer of PP in Russia – SIBUR Tobolsk in January produced more than 46,400 tonnes against 43,200 tonnes and 48,000 in January 2015 and December 2016 respectively. Total PP production at SIBUR Tobolsk in 2016 reached 463,500 tonnes.

Poliom (Titan Group) in January produced about 18,600 tonnes compared with 17,800 tonnes in January 2016 and 17,300 tonnes in December 2016. Total PP production at the plant in 2016 was about 202,900 tonnes, compared with 191,300 tonnes year on year.

Ufaorgsintez produced about 10,800 tonnes in January compared with 10,200 in January 2016 and 11,400 tonnes in December 2016. The producer”s PP output decreased to 123,100 tonnes in January-December 2016 compared with 126,700 tonnes year on year.

Stavrolen (LUKOIL)  increased capacity utilisation in  January, with 9,500 tonnes PP produced compared with 9,200 tonnes and 9,000 tonnes in January and December 2016. Total PP production at Stavrolen in 2016 reached 112,400 tonnes.

Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Tomskneftekhim in January kept capacity utilisation and produced about 18,400 tonnes and 12,000 tonnes PP respectively. Last year’s PP production at Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Tomskneftekhim exceeded 216,700 tonnes.

Neftekhimia in January produced about 9,600 tonnes against 11,300 tonnes January 2016, and 10,100 tonnes in December 2016. Total production at Neftekhimia reached 129,400 tonnes in 2016.
