MOSCOW (MRC)–The export price for polypropylene
from Europe producers to CIS countries was agreed up
€70/tonne in most cases, above the €50/tonne rise for
propylene this month, according to the ICIS-MRC price
report.
The March contract price of propylene in
Europe was agreed €50/tonne higher from February. However, in
most cases, local producers announced a greater increase in
this month’s export prices of polypropylene (PP) for CIS
countries, than the rise of the monomer.
Negotiations over March prices of European PP began at the
end of last week, with many market participants stating that
European producers raised their export PP prices for March
shipments by up to €70/tonne, depending on PP grade.
Deals for February shipments of homopolymer propylene
(homopolymer PP) were negotiated in the range of
€1,080-1,180/tonne FCA (free carrier), whereas last month’s
deals were done in the range of €1,010-1,110/tonne FCA. Most
producers have already had limited export quotas for the
past several months, but some producers only restricted their
shipments of homopolymer PP raffia grade this month.
Deals for copolymers of propylene (PP block copolymers) were
discussed in the range of €1,180 -1,300/tonne FCA.
Negotiations over March shipments of PP random copolymers
were held in the range of €1,230-1,320/tonne
FCA.
