Malaysia’s local PP producer drops April list prices on bearish import market

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–Fresh offers for April deliveries from Malaysia’s main polypropylene (PP) producer emerged lower month on month, market sources said on Friday.

PP flat yarn and injection grades were offered at Malaysian ringgit (M$) 5.35/kg DEL Malaysia, for cargo sizes of above 10 tonnes, down by around M$0.20/kg from March deliveries.

Discussions are still in the early stages and no concrete deals have been finalised at the time of publication.

The local producer reduced asking prices following declining values in the international market, in order to stay competitive against import cargoes.
