NOVA to buy US Williams Geismar cracker stake for $2.1bn
Canada-based NOVA Chemicals will pay $2.1bn to acquire Williams’s 88.46% stake in its cracker in Geismar, Louisiana, the companies said on Monday.

US Formosa issues force majeure on Point Comfort chlor-alkali
Formosa Plastics USA declared force majeure on Tuesday at its chlor-alkali plant in Point Comfort, Texas, after a “torrential thunderstorm” rendered the plant inoperable, according to a company letter to customers.

ExxonMobil, SABIC select site for US petchem project
ExxonMobil and SABIC have selected San Patricio County, close to Corpus Christi, Texas, as the site for their proposed joint-venture petrochemicals complex on the US Gulf Coast, ExxonMobil said on Wednesday.

US Sherwin-Williams raises forecast for feedstock prices
Sherwin-Williams now expects raw-material prices to rise by the mid-single digits, up from its forecast of low-single-digit inflation it made earlier in the year, the CEO of the US-based paints and coatings producer said on Thursday.
