Canada-based Pembina Pipeline and Petrochemical Industries Co
(PIC) of Kuwait have formed a joint venture
for a proposed integrated propylene and
1.2bn lb/year (544,000 tonne/year) polypropylene (PP)
plant in Alberta, the companies announced on Monday.
BASF declares force majeure on US
butyl acrylate
Germany-based oxo-alcohols producer BASF has declared
force majeure on US butyl acrylate (butyl-A), according to a
customer letter received on Tuesday.
DowDuPont merger gets conditional
approval in Brazil
Dow Chemical and DuPont have received conditional regulatory
approval from authorities in Brazil for their $130bn
DowDuPont merger, they said on Wednesday.
Dow delays proposed US May PE 3
cent/lb hike until June
Dow Chemical told US polyethylene (PE) customers on Thursday
that its 3 cent/lb ($66/tonne) increase for May is being
delayed until June, according to a letter sent by the
company.
US May PE contracts could fall on
producer cuts
US polyethylene (PE) contracts for May appeared to be heading
for a price cut on Friday as two producers were heard to
be lowering prices by 3 cents/lb ($66/tonne).
