Thailand’s PTTGC to shut 300,000 tonne/yr HDPE plant in mid-July

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–PTT Global Chemicals (PTTGC) plans to shut its 300,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, in mid-July for a scheduled turnaround, a source with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.

The plant – one of the three HDPE plants run by PTTGC – will be taken off line on 17 July and will restart on 1 August.

The company’s two other HDPE plants at the site have a combined capacity of 550,000 tonnes/year.
