MOSCOW (MRC)–Bashkir Soda Company has resumed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production after a forced unscheduled shutdown on 16 August, according to the ICIS-MRC Price report.

The company resumed production on 25 August after the forced outage which was caused by the termination of ethylene supply. Its representatives said the plant had already reached 100% capacity utilisation on Sunday.

As reported earlier, SayanskKhimPlast, Russia’s second largest PVC producer, resumed its PVC production on 25 August after scheduled maintenance.

Bashkir Soda Company is Russia’s only producer of terephthaloyl chloride, ruthenium-iridium coated anodes, polyelectrolyte cationic flocculant, and the first in Russia for the production of calcined and baking soda.

It is among the largest producers of PVC, caustic soda and cable plastic compounds.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
