SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s methylene exports more than doubled year on year to 1,606 tonnes in July, official data showed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, import volume fell by 18.9% year on year to 104 tonnes, according to data from the Japan Customs.
Oa a month-on-month basis, exports and imports were both higher by 94.6% and 124.7%, respectively.
On a year-to-date basis, total exports and imports rose by 2.2% year on year to 9,868 tonnes by 21.7% to 884 tonnes, respectively.
Methylene chloride is largely used in various industries such as paint stripping, pharmaceutical manufacturing, metal cleaning and degreasing.
