Japan’s Sumitomo to provide PTTGC with PO technology license

SINGAPORE (ICIS)–Sumitomo Chemical will license its propylene oxide (PO) manufacturing technology to Thai producer PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) for its new 200,000 tonne/year PO unit at Rayong province, the Japanese firm said on Thursday.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The new plant, scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2020, is part of PTTGC’s project to construct new PO and polyols plants through its subsidiaries, Sumitomo said in a statement.
